| Yesterday, horse racing resumed in Germany with great joy and not without a certain relief, and today's second event at Cologne racecourse saw a great start into the turf season by our Derby hopeful PALAO. The colt by Champs Elysees had closed his two-year-old campaign with an amazing third place in the G3 Preis des Winterfavoriten last year, a result he certainly confirmed with today's performance in his first outing of the year. Ridden by Martin Seidl for trainer Markus Klug, PALAO ran a gutsy race in the 2100 m G3 Cologne Classic and finished tird thanks to a spirited run in the final straight. |
