Germany's youngsters met today in the €155,000 G3 Preis des Winterfavoriten to crown the best two-year-old in the country, where Ittlingen-bred SCHWARZER PETER delivered a formidable performance. The Neatico colt, who is trained by Markus Klug for Uwe Aisch, presented himself improved yet again in his third time out and booked a great second place behind a superior winner. SCHWARZER PETER had Andreas Helfenbein on board for a powerful late run on Cologne's soft going that secured him Black Type and some validated attention for the 2022 German Derby.
